Whoops, I broke the R8 address book again!

This time is was not just in my demo environment on my laptop. It was in the production domain of one of my favorite clients.  We upgraded the design of the 7.0.2 address book to Release 8, and the policy settings view's action items are broken.  It should show Activities and Productivity tools as shown below.

But they are just not there.

This also happened to Chris Miller when we were doing the Upgrade Seminar in Philadelphia.  Rob was at the podium, yacking away, and Chris and I were at the speaker's table working on our demos when I thought I heard him say, "Oh zap!"  He was able to recover the missing menus through multiple redesigns.  

Today, when I related my continuing problem he said that when he fixed this issue on one server that the fix wouldn't replicate to other servers in his domain.  He was forced to manually redesign on every server.  That was certainly more elegant than my lab domain fix, where I completely recreated all address book replicas on all servers using a NAB that finally was looking prim and proper.

I still need to resolve this issue.  It's not a show stopper, but it is a royal pain.
